India’s largest automobile company Tata Motors is looking forward to launch its popular and world cheapest car Tata Nano in Indonesia. Keeping in mind their expansion plans in Indonesia, Tata motors is in talk with a leading Indonesian auto manufacturer company to produce Nano car.
Previously it was Thiland where Tata Motors were planning to establish their production plant to produce Tata Nano, the world’s cheapest car, as already there is a Tata Motors factory in Samut Prakanin which produce Xenon and Ace light trucks from 2009.
But Tata Motors changes their decision when Indonesia offered more attractive incentives. Reports are saying that Tata Motors now is in talks with PT Astra International, Indonesia’s leading automobile company, to produce the car.
It is also said that Tata Motors are more concern about an unfavourable tax structure and political instability in Thiland which led them to put on hold this project for a moment and go ahead with the Indonesian proposal. However Tata would launch a Nano imported from India by the end of this year at the Thailand International Motor Expo to build consumer awareness about Tata’s passenger car brand before the cars are actually built in Indonesia.
