Tata Motors has unveiled a compact sedan – Zest and Bolt hatchback on Monday in India. Both the cars run on Tata’s new Revotron engine.
“These cars have been engineered for global markets, through global teams across India, the UK and Korea to set new standards in their respective segments,” Ranjt Yadav, President Passenger Vehicles, Tata Motors said.
“With these two cars, the important part is that we would now be able to address petrol car market,” he added.
While Zest would be available in petrol and diesel variants, Bolt will be available only in petrol engine. The Zest diesel version will be powered by F-Tronic 90 PS powered engine.
Yadav told reporters that the cars will be made at company’s Pune plant and Tata will launch them in global markets later this year.
“The cars would adhere to country specific regulatory conditions, whenever we start exporting the cars,” Yadav said.
Putting stop at the speculations of fate of Indica and Indigo, Yadav said, “Both Indica and Indigo are very strong brands and will continue to sell in the market.”
