Royal Enfield Himalayan to Get a ‘Proactive Service Update’

After day-long buzz in networld, finally the company has clarified that Royal Enfield Himalayans are not being ‘recalled’ but it will get a ‘proactive service update’ on its units to repair faulty problems like engine noise, hard gear shift, stand gap and a change of sari guard.

“We have feedbacks from some customers about high engine noise. Although it doesn’t affect performance, we have found a solution to it. Usually, we rectify such issue in first servicing but we are asking customers to bring their bikes earlier to get it resolved,” Eicher Motors Ltd Managing Director and CEO Siddhartha Lal told PTI.

“I want to clarify this is not a recall. Recalls are actually meant for safety related and other large issues. In fact, this (exercise by Royal Enfield) is commonly referred to as proactive service update,” he said, adding, “We are also changing the design of the sari guard.”
