According to the latest sources, a chain of arrests were made in the Belgian capital of Brussels, as security forces in several countries are in a bid to prevent further blasts and associated atrocities and capture those linked to the murder of 31 people, on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, in Paris, the French officials believe to have foiled another major terrorist attack, after an immediate raid in Argenteuil, North Paris, took place, where the local citizens reported to have heard the ‘gunfire and explosions’.
One man, a French national, was arrested in this raid. However, he had no supposed role to play in this week’s happenings. Reportedly, he had, in the past, been incarcerated for indirectly recruiting young and middle-aged Europeans to fight with other jihadists in the Middle Eastern nations. In Brussels, six people are reportedly being interrogated and the suburbs in Brussels have been ‘cordoned off.’
The political scenario of the nation, meanwhile, remains in doldrums after prime minister, Charles Michel refused to accept the resignation of Jan Jambon, the interior minister, and Koen Geens, the justice minister of the nation. The Belgian authorities, meanwhile, have faced strong series of reactions, with people condemning and severely criticising the security system.
