43% prefer Modi as Prime Minister, Rahul Gandhi gets 36%: Ipsos poll

According to a recent survey conducted by marketing research company Ipsos, Indians chose Narendra Modi over Rahul Gandhi as the next Prime minister of the country.

43% prefer Modi as Prime Minister43% Indians preffered Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi,  while Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi comes in second spot with 36% vote in the survey.

The Ipsos “Mood of the Nation” survey reveals that while Indian men mostly backed Modi, women however voted for Rahul Gandhi.

Modi received most supports from voters in Lucknow (61%), Bangalore (57%) and Chennai (46%). Rahul Gandhi gets high support  from Bangalore (49%).

The survey also reveals only 28% voters wanted to see Congress to come back to power, while 36% of voters said they would vote for BJP in 2014 general election.
