Google Plus chief Vivek ‘Vic’ Gundotra has resigned from Google after a success eight-year career with the search giant. He has not revealed any specific reason behind his resignation, however, he did hint on a new plan.
Vivek ‘Vic’ Gundotra posted his departure news on Google Plus on Thursday, “I am excited about what’s next,” he wrote adding, “But this isn’t the day to talk about that. This is a day to celebrate the past eight years. To cry. And smile. And to look forward to the journey yet to come.”
Google CEO Larry Page praised Gundotra on G+ by saying, “Vic — thank you for a tremendous almost eight years at Google. You cut your teeth on our mobile apps and developer relations, turning our disparate efforts into something great. When I first used turn-by-turn navigation, it blew me away.”
“There are few people with the courage and ability to start something like that and I am very grateful for all (Gundotra’s) hard work and passion,” he added.
Gundotra, a chief architect of Google Plus which has been working hard to dent business of Facebook, has so far boasts over 500 million users in three years but failed to tempt13 billion FB users people to spend more time in G+ than Facebook. However, Madras IIT alumni Gundotra’s contribution to provide more info to Google’s search engine though G+ to give users perfect result undeniable and unquestionable. G+ helped Google to earn more revenues by selling digital advertising.
Gundotra also lead member in building initial apps for Google’s Android operating system.
Google has not yet announced the new Google Plus Chief.
