Popular Indian e-commerce site snapdeal.com has introduced ‘same-day delivery service’ on Monday.
Initially the service will be available for customers in Delhi and the National Capital Region without paying any extra charges. Customers, who would place an order before 1 p.m, will be liable to choose same day delivery option.
“More than 90% of the orders placed on Snapdeal.com are shipped within 24 hours. However, we do understand that sometimes customers want the products urgently. The Same Day Express Delivery Service has been launched to meet such customers’ wish,” Rohit Bansal, co-founder of Snapdeal told TechCrunch.
Currently most of the leading online retailers like Flipkart and Amazon offer next day delivery. Delhi-based Snapdeal’s new delivery service will surely put pressure on its rivals. After getting $50 million funding from eBay last year,Snapdeal is surely looking forward to take domestic market by storm in 2014.
Founded in 2010 by Rohit Bansal and Kunal Bahl, Snapdeal has over 20 million registered customers at present.
