In its first monetary policy announcement after Modi government took charge, the Reserve Bank of India has kept the key repo rate unchanged at 8%.
RBI Governor Raghuram Rajan announced the policy rate in Mumbai on Tuesday.
The RBI also announced increasing the availability of credit, reducing the statutory liquidity ratio by 50 bps to 22.5% of deposits.
