Maruti Suzuki To Build Automobile Plant in Gujarat

It is understood that the plant would be set up in an area of about 500 acres identified for the purpose.

Becharaji enjoys strategic location in the Delhi-Mumbai industrial corridor (DMIC).

According to a senior official from the Industries Department of Gujarat, “From Becharaji, the company can export its cars from Mundra port in Kutch, as there is direct railway line. Also, entire North India, besides Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh, can be catered to by the Maruti with multiple connectivity options.” This, he explained, was why Becharaji had been preferred to Sanand where the factories of  Tata, Ford and Peugeot are under construction.
