To worsen the crisis, Kingfisher airline’s CEO Sanjay Agarwal told the striking engineers that Kingfisher is not in a position to pay even a month’s salary at a meeting in Mumbai on Monday. Thus the meeting between management and striking employees ended in a deadlock.
Sanjay Agarwal requested striking employees to return to work immediately and promised a strong action will be taken if employees do not co-operate.
Kingfisher employees are not been paid salaries since March and they are demanding a meeting with Chairman Vijay Mallya, which was denied. Kingfisher airline is burden with bank loans of more than Rs. 7,000 crore from banks.
Engineers are joined by pilots in the protests which eventually led 50 Kingfisher flights cancellation in 24 hours.
Meanwhile DGCA said that they will not allow any Kingfisher flight to take off without engineers fit’s certificate.
