J P Morgan recently appointed new Deputy CEO, Viswas Raghvan. Viswas Raghvan is an Indian Origin banker who heads the Investment Banking business of J P Morgan in Europe. He has been promoted as the Deputy CEO, Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) who was earlier the heading the countries for the firm.
He was previously the global head of the equity capital markets for the firm. Raghvan has studied accountancy before becoming a trader in investment banking. He joined J P Morgan in 2000 from the Lehman brothers. The important deals that Raghvan worked on are the flotation Salvatore Ferragamoof Italy and a €5 billion rights issue for Porsche.
He has a graduate degree of the University of Bombay in BSc Physics and a post graduate degree in Electronic engineering and computer science from Aston University, Birmingham.
The elevation was announced by the bank in an internal memo its employees. “In addition to his current role as head of banking for the EMEA region, Raghvan will become the deputy CEO for EMEA. He will succeed Emilio Saracho, who will now become a vice-chairman of J P Morgan Chase & Co,” the memo said, as reported in TOI.
Raghvan will now report to Daniel Pinto, chief executive of corporate & investment bank (CIB), JP Morgan Chase & Co, for his deputy CEO responsibilities and join the EMEA and CIB Management Committees.
