Facebook registered whopping $ 10 billion revenue in 2014, making it one of the most successful financial years in its history.
“We got a lot done in 2014. Our community continues to grow and we’re making progress towards connecting the world,” said Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook founder and CEO.
According to the company, the profit increased mostly due to mobile ad revenue. Profit in the fourth quarter increased to $696 million as revenue surged to $3.85 billion. For full year, Facebook’s profit almost doubled to $2.9 billion and revenue increased to $12.8 billion with 58 per cent hike than last year.
Zuckerberg said that Facebook will concentrate more on investment in this financial year.
“It matters to the kinds of investors we want to have because we are a very mission-driven company,” Zuckerberg said, adding, “If we were only focused on making money, we might put all our energy into ads for people in the US and other developed countries, but that is not just what we care about here.”
