Fox Searchlight is on a strategic move for the much talked about Reese Witherspoon starrer “Wild.” The Cheryl Strayed memoir of a chronicle of one woman’s 1,100-mile solo hike undertaken as a way to recover from a recent catastrophe is un-arguably a plot to die for any actor. It is supposed to be the “127 Hours” of Witherspoon – mostly a one-woman show.
Donning the director’s hat – Jean-Marc Vallée, is having a good track-record after Matthew McConaughey to his first Best Actor Oscar award earlier this year for Dallas Buyers Club.
It’s also written by celebrated author Nick Hornby. As the film looks very promising and a strong vehicle for Witherspoon – Fox made it more evident. They have announced the release for an Oscar-friendly December 5th release date later this year.
