SHASHI KAPOOR BEING AWARDED THE GLORIOUS ACCOLADE
Last week got a good start with the news of veteran actor Shashi Kapoor getting the prestigious Dada Saheb Phalke Award. Unable to attend the main event in Delhi due to ill state, he was presented the award by Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Arun Jaitley at Prithvi Theatre in Mumbai. An after-award snap showed his family members – Rishi Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor, Neetu Singh, Karishma Kapoor and other famous Bollywood faces who seemed elated.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Shashi Kapoor on Twitter, “It was wonderful seeing the versatile and much admired Shashi Kapoor-ji being presented the Dadasaheb Phalke Award. Congratulations to him.”
PK ALL SET FOR ITS WIDEST RELEASE
China is ready to welcome the Indian creation and a blockbuster movie PK. It premiered on 13th May 2015 in the country`s largest 1200-seater theatre, Shanghai Art Centre. The film has gained 3500 screens there, and will be released nationwide on May 22nd. UTV`s Amrita Pandey expressed her enthusiasm over such a huge achievement. Said Pandey, “The emptional thread of the story, along with the endearing innocence of Aamir`s character and Raju`s film making grammar, resonated with them. They have been looking forward to the Chinese release since the last six months. This is an exciting not just for our film but the Hindi film industry in general.”
Meanwhile, an announcement of China-India co-production movie was also made, wherein it is said that Jackie Chan and Aamir Khan will star together. A combination of Indian culture and Chinese martial arts, Kung Fu and Yoga will showcase two talented actors together. Well, if it really happens, it will add to the cause of bettering the international relationships via entertainment medium.
NARGIS FLAUNTS OFF IN HOLLYWOOD FILM
Helmed by Paul Feig, Spy is a comical film and the Indian beauty, Nargis Fakhri is to debut in the Hollywood world through it. Though it is a cameo role, it is an important one as she plays a special agent and is said to have done action sequences without a body double. Its poster was released just last week, revealing the look of Nargis in the film. The movie stars Jude Law, Jason Statham, Rose Byrne and Melissa McCarthy in pivotal roles.
INDIA SPARKLES AT CANNES FESTIVAL
It was for the first time that Katrina Kaif was going to grace the red carpet, and needless to say, she impressed everyone marvelously with each of her outfits. Be it her chic black and white dress or a red Elie Saab gown, she stunned everyone attracting the shutterbugs` attention. Sonam, being a fashionista, is also making her presence felt with her usual unique attires. Sonam Kapoor showed her bold avatar in a white shaded royal gown by Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla and was being styled by Sonam’s sis Rhea Kapoor. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is yet to walk on the red carpet, but the trio is representing India extremely well, being the brand ambassadors of an Indian product.
ANUSHKA- RANVEER TURNED CHOREOGRAPHERS
The latest music number from Dil Dhadakne do, Pehli Baar is an energetic one. But if you are being told that it is choreographed by Anushka Sharma and Ranveer Singh themselves, it is sure to surprise you. They set it up in just an hour and went with a simple easy flow. After turning singers, it now comes to being dancers, and as usual, our film stars have rocked it! Directed by Zoya Akhtar, this multi-starrer film is the biggest one of the year in all the terms.
