While Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has already sent the fashion police around the world in a frenzy with her drool worthy red carpet looks at Cannes 2016, it’s her mesmerizing performance in Sarbjit that has everyone going gaga over the actress.
Sarbjit was screened at the prestigious film festival last night and it is not a surprise that this film has left each and every one awestruck and praising for the actors involved. The trailer itself was so engaging that we were sure the film would just be as good. Actually, it is not ‘just good’, it is a masterpiece as per the audiences and critics.
Gracing the red carpet for the screening of their movie were Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Richa Chadha, Bhushan Kumar, producers Honey and Jackky Bhagnani and director Omung Kumar.
Donning a Rami Kadi gown, Aishwarya had her moment with experimenting colors as she opted for a purple lipstick! This move of hers got quite mixed reactions, but nothing even came as close as the applause she received for her performance.
Not one to be left behind, her co-star Richa Chadha wore a gold sari. It is safe to say that these ladies own the game on the red carpet and on the big screen as well.
Sarbjit is a film revolving around a Punjabi farmer who was accused of terrorism and locked up in a jail in Lahore and his sister’s 23-year long fight to bring him to justice. The film hits the theaters on 20 May.
