One of the most hyped films of 2015 – “Queen Of Desert” is catching eyes already with an exquisite casting and a maverick storyline. It depicts the chronicle of Gertrude Bell’s life, a traveler, writer, archaeologist, explorer, cartographer, and political attaché for the British Empire.
With latest inclusion of Damien Lewis in the character of Charles Doughty-Wylie – the film gets a new high. The already cast includes James Franco, Robert Pattinson and Nicole Kidman.
Kidman portrays the title role as Gertrude Bell. And, Damian Lewis, who has won Golden Globes and Emmys for his work as POW-turned-terrorist Nicolas Brody in Showtime’s Homeland is being cast opposite her as Lt. Col. Charles Doughty-Wylie who exchanged love letters with her from 1913-1915 until he was killed in active duty at Gallipoli.
Nick Raslan is producing the film through his Palmyra Films banner along with Cassian Elwes and Michael Benaroya.
The production is set for a early December start and is slated for a 2015 release.
