Grammys Boss Neil Portnow denied allegations of any race problem which resulted Beyonce’s loss to Adele in “Album Of The Year” category at this year’s mega award show.
Beyonce, 35, was front runner to win the Album Of The Year for Lemonade which dominated 2016, but in the end Adele won the Grammy for 25.
“I thought it was her year,” Adele said of Beyoncé after winning the award and she broke her award in half and share it with Queen Bey.
“The reason I felt the need to say something was my album of the year was Lemonade,” Adele told press, adding, “She is my icon of my whole life.”
Meanwhile many music lovers and especially Beyonce fans were convinced that she lost the award because of her skin color. However, Neil Portnow vehemently denied such allegations and said it was all fair.
He said, “No, I don’t think there’s a race problem at all,” adding, “14,000 members of the Academy choose the award not the fans”.
Beyonce took home Grammys for Best Urban Contemporary Album and Best Music Video.
