The news of Hollywood spine-chilling horror film ‘Oculus’ being remade into a Bollywood Hindi movie has attracted numerous eyeballs and also speculated by many. So, here comes another development in the story which reveals a little about the film.
It was earlier informed that Huma Qureshi and Saqib Saleem are going to be a part of this film. Both share brother-sister relationship in real life; so many are excited to see how their chemistry will create magic onscreen. Directed by Prawaan Raman, Oculus is the duo`s first outing together.
About this, Saqib told PTI, “I am very excited for ‘Oculus’ because it is the first time Huma and I will be working together. We keep talking about the movie all the time, have similar likings and finally we are coming together. Our relationship, however, is not a typical one in the film.
“We share an awkward sibling relationship, totally different from how we are in real life. In the film our characters detest each other, even though there is a lot of love between the two. The relationship is intense and aggressive.”
The movie`s title isn`t confirmed yet, but will revolve around the same plot as original one. It will show how young brother-sister get separated due to an entry of an antique-supernatural mirror, which turns their parents psychotic and ends up disuniting the siblings. The brother goes to jail as a juvenile and sister researches on the enigmatic mirror. While brother spends his life dreading in jail, sister enjoys it staying at home and also has found love of her life. Apparently, brother hates her for that which made Huma and Saqib feel awkward as it is completely opposite in their real life. Saqib confessed that both use to fight as kids, but at present share a lovable bond.
As script said it, Saqib had to practice for his role portrayal; he has planned to attend workshops in Delhi to get into his role, and also is to pay visit to juvenile homes in the city so that no stone is left unturned.
He said, “I play the role of a guy who spends years in a juvenile home, as a loner with no access to the outside world.
“So, I want to be locked up inside my home and just go for workshops and prepare for the character because I want to explore the other side of life, which is different from what I lead in Mumbai.”
London is said to be the primary location for the film`s shoot, which will be starting in this May. Hope the duo brings out the best of Oculus through its desi version.
