Little Women by Greta Gerwig is a heart-warming movie with some memorable characters. Sisterhood is charming, right? Little Women is the story of four beautiful sisters who really have wonderful and refined hearts. Little Women is the movie version of Lousia May Alcott’s novel.
The movie opens in New York with Jo March waiting at the door of an office. Jo March is creative at what she writes, she writes stories and wants to sell them. She is waiting at the office for a newspaper editor named Dashwood, hoping to sell him her story. Jo is also a teacher and strives hard to earn something to protect her family, she returns home from New york after receiving a letter that her little sister Beth is ill. Her sister Amy March studies painting in Paris. This is where Amy encounters her childhood neighbour Laurie. The movie switches between past and present of Jo March’s life. The four sisters are portrayed incredibly. They are kind, generous, and selfless. That is what their mother Mary March(Marmee) thought them. Meg March is the elder one, she loves to be an actor and she is cheerful all the time. The next one is Jo, she is tomboyish and responsible. The next is Beth, who loves her family and music. She is a nice piano player too. The last one is Amy, she is elegant and a great artist. They have a neighbour called Laurie and his tutor is Mr.Brooke. Meg falls in love with Brooke and marries him. Jo is tomboyish and she thinks marriage is not the right thing for her, that is why she rejects Laurie’s proposal. Their beautiful sister Beth suffers from serious illness so they all decide to send Amy away with Aunt March, because she never had that before and there is a chance of passing. Amy and Laurie get together in Paris and they decide to marry.
