Guilty- Save, don’t enslave!

Guilty movie evokes us to “Me too movement” of 2006 and elicits the modern society with a wave of women empowerment. Judging women by her past experiences and her clothes remain unaltered.

The movie opens with a guy behind the camera speaking about February 14, valentine’s day. He is a friend of VJ( Vijay Pratap Singh) the heartthrob of the college. VJ is portrayed as a privileged guy in the movie who is the son of a politician. The movie is set in St.Martinscollege. VJ has a girlfriend in his college who is quirky in her dressing, she is Nanki. VJ, Nanki and some other guys together form a band called Doobydoo. Nanki is the lyricist of the band and VJ is the vocalist. The movie takes a dramatic turn when a girl from Dhanbad called Tanu Kumar tweets that she was raped by VJ, with hashtags like ‘ Metoo, Nomeansno, evillaughter, Raj Khosla, Tarun Khanna, and BlackHeart’. The college baffled after hearing this.

Everyone knows that Tanu Kumar has feelings for VJ and she is not in good terms with Nanki. She seduced VJ on valentine’s day-night, Nanki saw that and left with anger. No one knows what happened next. VJ’s family hired a solicitor Danish Ali Baig for the investigation. We will get to know from Nanki that VJ admits that he has slept with her but it was not forceful, he says it was consensual. Simultaneously, we hear from Dr. Roy that Nanki is fragile and needs some counseling and medication. Danish stands by justice and toils to uncover the truth by investigating VJs friends.

This movie ends with a hair-raising speech by Nanki, which peels off the myths about women. How do you think the movie has ended? Is VJ really accused of rape? Or Tanu Kumar is just bluffing? Please do watch this movie and experience this sublime ride.
