With Captain America: Civil War already taking over each and every box office around the world, Marvel has made some exciting new announcements regarding the third film of the Thor franchise, Thor: Ragnarok. Leave it to Marvel to have us at the edge of our seats all the time.
The film will see many old faces as well as a few new characters and talents. We, not to anyone’s surprise, have Chris Hemsworth picking up that hammer as reprises his role as Thor and Tom Hiddleston is going to return as the villain we all, to say in his words, hate to love, Loki. Among the characters that are said to return are Idris Elba as Heimdall and Sir Anthony Hopkins will be seen portraying Odin.
As announced by Marvel, Mark Ruffalo is all set to join the cast as Hulk. You read it right; Hulk will be a part of Thor: Ragnarok. Two guys as strong as Hulk and Thor fighting enemies is something I cannot wait to watch till 2017.
But that is not all. We also have a few new characters that will be introduced in the film. The gorgeous Cate Blanchett will be seen portraying a new villain, Hela, the character of the Grandmaster will be brought to life by the extremely talented Jeff Goldblum, Karl Urban will take up the role of the ridiculously powerful Skurge, and finally, Tessa Thompson will add more power and depth to the character of Valkyrie.
“The continuation of the epic Thor franchise will be powerful and unique, and with the additions of Cate, Jeff, Tessa, Karl, and Mark to the cast we have the makings of his most dangerous and heroic adventure yet,” said Producer Kevin Feige. “The sheer, raw talent each of these actors brings to the screen can’t be quantified. Having any one of them join the Marvel Cinematic Universe would be an honor, and having all of them is incredible,” Feige added.
The film is said to release in 2017, but we don’t think there is anyone who can possibly be okay with waiting for that long. After all, it’s the Marvel Cinematic Universe we are talking about.
