‘Teri Meri Kahaani’ – Movie Review

I just finished watching Kunal Kohlis’s latest offering, a much awaited romantic movie, ‘Teri Meri Kahaani’ starring Shahid Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra. Teri Meri Kahani is a typical love story set against three different time zones in 1910, 1960 and today’s Britain. ‘Teri Meri Kahaani’ is all about how the lovers find their love in different situation against all odds.

Kunal has portrayed three different era beautifully and has showed how three different love stories affected by the situations. Each story tackles timely and social issues and gave a strong message with beautiful performances and dialogs. I must acknowledge the dialogs which are simple, poetic and romantic.

There were three stories but I personally liked the Punjab story and I loved the way both Robin Bhatt and Kunal Kohli wrote screenplay. It is uncomplicated, simple yet interesting. Also the music by Sajid-Wajid was good and adds lots of charm to it.

Though it was rumored that the movie was influenced by 2005 hit Taiwanese movie ‘Three Times’, but after watching it, I must confess that the two are not

related , however Kunal must have taken the basic idea of ‘Teri Meri Kahaani’ from it.

The performances of the lead actors and actresses made the movie a worth watching. The chemistry between Shahid and Priyanka was evident and works as an asset for this movie. Shahid carries all three characters with ease and flamboyance style. His portray of a musician, a flirt and a young fashionable guy – Shahid did an exceptional job and he will surely receive praise from all quarters. Aradhana, Rukhsar and Radha – Priyanka has done justice to all three characters. In a small role Prachi Desai was also delivered a beautiful performance.

‘Teri Meri Kahaani’ is Kunal one of the best work till date. The way he treated each story is awesome and all the climaxes or concluding scenes were very attractive to watch.

‘On a whole, Teri Meri Kahaani’ is simple, charming, enjoyable, fascinating and entirely satisfactory to watch.
