“Don’t Leave Me” : Dutch Docu making waves

The Dutch Documentary “Don’t Leave Me” (“Ne Me Quitte Pas”) about two friends who want to disappear from life is getting rave reviews worldwide. It is being considered as one of the best indie buddy comedy with brains. And, some critics are terming it as a brainy hilarious comedy about two alcoholic friends hanging out in the woods.

The filmmakers focus on the meandering exploits of two middle-aged natives whose antics have made them abandoned from any companionship here of. As they stumble through a seemingly abandoned world defined by their vices and self-depreciating wit – the movie marvelously portrays the deadpan humor, unbelievably witty and cherishing.

The directors stayed away from any restrictive notion of documentary story telling. And, the directors Sabine Lubbe Bakker, Niels van Koevorden sets an awesome example in the world of indie movie undoubtedly. The movie awaits an international release or premier.
