Veteran Bollywood actor Pran cremated in Mumbai

Veteran actor Pran’s body was cremated at Shivaji Park crematorium in Dadar in Mumbai on Saturday morning. Bollywood’s most popular villain, Pran passed away on Friday at the Lilavati Hospital. He was 93.

Gulzar, Amitabh Bachchan, Karan Johar, Tinu Anand, Shakti Kapoor, Anupam Kher , Shatrughan Sinha are some of the celebrities who were presented at the funeral ceremony and paid their last respects.

Pran had acted in more than 400 movies in his six decades old career. He was conferred with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award, the highest honour of Indian film industry, in May this year.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh paid his tribute on Friday and said, ‘Indian Cinema has lost an icon today. I convey my heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family & Pran’s countless fans and admirers. I pray for peace of the departed soul.’
