Did Swastika Mukherjee attempt suicide?

Popular Bengali actress Swastika Mukherjee was hospitalised last week to undergo a surgery to remove some glass pieces from her arm. Although the doctors at Apollo Hospital are not confirming whether the injury was due to an accident or self inflicted, but in the Bengali film industry it is highly speculated that Swastika tried to commit suicide following a rift with her current boyfriend who is happened to be a leading and national award winning director.

“There were some cut injuries. We don’t know how it happened. She is fine now and will be discharged soon,” plastic surgeon Dr Kaushik Nandy told PTI.

Swastika is set to make her Bollywood debut with Sushant Singh Rajput in Dibakar Banerjee’s ‘Detective Byomkesh Bakshi’.

Swastika’s sister Ajopa Mukherjee said she fell down on glass while partying at the night.

“She got injuries on her head and hand. She was holding a glass, pieces of which got into her arm as she fell,” she said.
