Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt has surrendered at TADA court in Mumbai today to resume his jail terms in connection with 1993 Bombay serial blasts case.
Sanjay Dutt left his Bandra residence with his wife wife Manyata, sister Priya Dutt and filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt to surrender before the court to serve serve 42 months sentence.
Bollywood fraternity poured into Dutt’s residence since last night. Salman Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Ajay Devgn, Sanjay Gupta, Apporva Lakhia, Rajkumar Hirani, Milan Luthria paid a visit to show moral support to the actor.
Meanwhile Sanjay Dutt’s security has been increased amid anonymous threat letter.
On March 21, Supreme Court orders 5 years jail sentence to Sanjay Dutt for possessing illegal weapons, a 9 mm pistol and an AK-56 rifle, in the 1993 Bombay Blast case in which 257 people were killed and over 800 injured. He has already served one-and-a-half-years term.
The Supreme Court had granted Dutt an additional four weeks last month to complete his pending works. He has managed to finish films like Policegiri, Rensil De Silva’s Unglee, Apoorva Lakhia’s remake of Zanjeer and Raj Kumar Hirani’s PK.
His next movie ‘Hum Hai Raahi Car Ke’ will be released on May24.
