Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt who had surrendered last week was shifted to Pune’s Yerwada Jail.
Sanjay Dutt who has been convicted in the 1993 Bombay blasts case surrendered on May 16 in Mumbai’s TADA court and remained in Arthur Road jail till yesterday. Dutt had reportedly told court that he is facing threat to his life from fundamentalist groups.
On March 21, Supreme Court awarded 5 years imprisonment to Sanjay Dutt for possessing illegal weapons, a 9 mm pistol and an AK-56 rifle, in the 1993 Bombay Blast case in which 257 people were killed and over 800 injured. He has already served one-and-a-half-years term. The 53-year-old actor now has to serve another 42 months jail term.
