Mallika Sherawat denies her role behind Antonio Banderas’ split from Melanie Griffith

Bollywood actress Mallika Sherawat has denied any role behind the split between Hollywood power couple Antonio Banderas and Melanie Griffith.

Soon after the couple announced ending of 18-year marriage, the rumors began that Sherawat was the actual reason behind it.

A video has been  surfacing featuring Banderas and Sherawat dancing in Cannes few years back, speculating liaison between the two.

Mallika Sherawat, however, insisted that Banderas was just an “acquaintance” and she had nothing to do with the split.  

“Antonio Banderas is a wonderful man, a great dancer and an acquaintance of mine,” Mallika Sherawat said in a statement to E! News.

“I did not go on any vacation with him, and I’m sorry he’s going through a divorce,” she added.

Mallika Sherawat also slammed a stylist named Ivan Bitton, who claimed a link between Banderas and Sherawat.

“I don’t know what he’s even talking about now,” Mallika said adding, “I haven’t been in touch with Ivan since I fired him. Whatever he’s saying about me is ridiculous.”

Griffith filed for divorce on earlier this month in Los Angeles, citing irreconcilable differences for the split. The couple has a 17-year-old daughter.
