Bollywood Filmmaker Raj Kanwar Passed Away

Renowned director Raj Kanwar (53) died on Friday morning, leaving his wife Anita and two sons Karan (20) and Abhay Kanwar (16) in enormous shock and pain.

Raj Kanwar went to Singapore to treat his kidney ailment. He was suffering from kidney problem for years and about to undergo a kidney transplant but passed away even before the surgery could perform. Ironically his brother K Pappu was also passed away five years ago at the age of 53 from the same ailment.

Raj Kanwar made his directorial debut in successful movie Deewana. In this movie he had launched Shah Rukh Khan. He had also launched several other bollywood stars like Priyanka Chopra, Lara Dutta, Arya Babbar and Amrita Rao.

During his eventful career he had directed movies like Laadla, Jeet, Daag-The Fire, Badal, Jaa,  Dhaai Akshar Prem Ke, Har Dil Jo Pyaar Karega and Andaaz.

Shah Rukh Khan pays heartfelt homage, “Launched by Kanwar in Deewana My friend Raj Kanwarji passed away. The impermanence of life, makes one feel so helpless. May his soul rest in peace. Aisi Deewangi…miss u sir”
