This week we are back with new Bollywood wrap-up to provide you with information about new releases, trailers, posters, interesting news and gossips! So, why waste time? Let`s start quickly:
- TWO TRAILERS OF MAJOR 2015 FILMS OUT:
Last week was quite filled with unveilings of trailers, posters and first looks. Official Hindi adaptation of Hollywood film ‘Warriors’, ‘Brothers’’ trailer received a wide popularity with over one million views within a day`s release. Starring Siddharth Malhotra, Akshay Kumar, Jacqueline Fernandez and Jackie Shroff in pivotal roles, movie is all set to release on 14th August and is enjoying more anticipation from viewers especially after its trailer release.
‘Bangistaan’, have you ever heard of this place before? Surely not, because it is a fictional nation created for the film with the same name. Having Riteish Dehmukh and Pulkit Samrat in lead roles, movie is a comical satire showcasing the story of two aspiring terrorists who exchange their religions, in order to finish the other community but end up giving the social message of brotherhood. It is slated to release on 31 July, 2015. Also, the first poster of Nikhil Advani’s forthcoming movie ‘Katti Batti’ was unveiled; the movie has Kangana Ranut and Imran Khan in the main roles. The poster is quite funky and unique as it shows just the pair of feet of the lead pair. Hope the movie, too, turns out to be eccentric as poster looks really promising! Catch Katti Batti`s trailer as it releases today!
- PK CREATES INTERNATIONAL HISTORY, MAKES INDIA PROUD:
Last year’s Aamir Khan’s super-duper hit PK saw its official international release last week in China. And it seems that the flick has captivated the minds of audiences in China too, for it has collected 100 cr there and created a difficult-to-break record. It had released in China on 22nd May and has garnered $15.94 million so far.
- ‘PIKU’s’ SPECIAL SCREENING FOR OUR PRESIDENT:
Piku is one such film which can enchant any of its watchers with its simplicity, no wonder it mesmerized our president Pranab Mukherjee, for whom movie`s special screening was arranged in Rashtrapati Bhavan. From Amitabh Bachchan`s blog post of last week, one learns that the president undoubtedly liked the movie. Big B posted, “”The Honourable President of India Shri Pranab Mukherji, tonight watched PIKU and may I say with great reserve of modesty, he absolutely loved it! Most particular he seemed to have enjoyed the ‘perfect’ Bengali-Hindi accent, which he felt was flawless. He later invited us over for dinner and we continued to discuss the film and its merits. The grand halls of the Rashtrapati Bhavan, perhaps the biggest and largest palace in the world, were a picture of the grace and dignity that such occasions demand. His felicitation to us by the mementoes was remarkable. Greatly indebted to him for having found the time to be with us.”
- SHAHID’S MARRIAGE STILL A TALKING POINT
Ever since the news of Bollywood heartthrob getting married was leaked, media has been unable to take their eyes off every coming news related to Shahid’s wedding plans. One speculates that Shahid is to throw Bachelor`s party overseas at this month end, with marriage being pushed to second week of July. Albeit, nothing is confirmed as of now as the busy actor is finding it difficult to manage his dates amidst prior professional commitments. One also learns that his fiancé had accompanied him to IIFA awards in Malaysia but deliberately didn`t make appearance on red carpet to avoid shutterbugs. Well, it seems that the couple is too conscious about their privacy to expose anything as of now; nevertheless, coming days will surely spill the beans!
- After turning singers, it appears that actresses want to prove something more and show to the world that apart from acting they carry many other talents. For instance, Kangana has recently tried her hand at direction and accomplished the task brilliantly. She has directed a seven minutes scene in her upcoming Katti Batti and has managed to impress the real director of the film. Kangana was quoted saying, “”It’s a seven-minute uncut sequence. I had to shoot it by holding the camera in my hands which was the demand of the script. It was nerve-racking, but actors can do anything for a director who shows trust and faith in his actor’s abilities. Nikhil is one such director.” Film`s director Nikhil Advani is all happy with her, he said, “One of my favourite scenes in the film is one in which Kangana’s character is shooting Imran playfully with an iPad. I wanted the scene to be authentic and organic so Tushar (lensman) suggested that we should allow Kangana to shoot it herself. “The lighting was completed, the set was cleared out and Kangana has shot the scene like a pro, adding one more talent to her already overflowing basket.”
Yes, even we would like to see Kangana’s skills on the other side of the camera.
Done with this week’s wrap up, but only to come next week with a new one! 🙂
