SRK’s ‘Chennai Express’ to be released on Eid

Shah Rukh Khan’s Chennai Express will be released on August 8, the day of Eid, which traditionally belongs to his arch rival Salman Khan.

For the last four years Salman’s four movies were released on the auspicious day of Eid. Wanted, Bodyguard, Dabangg and Ek Tha Tiger – all of them have ruled at the box office.

Shah Rukh who preferred Diwali slot so far, has opted for Eid release this year. This is the first time in years Shah Rukh Khan’s film will be released on Eid!

Shah Rukh has announced the release date for Chennai Express at a meeting in Wai on Thursday.

Salman Khan’s ‘Sher Khan’ which was earlier slotted to be released on Eid, got delayed.

Chennai Express is directed by Rohit Shetty and it has Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone in lead roles.
