Ravi Shankar Foundation is going to release the last and final recordings of sitar maestro Pandit Ravi Shankar in May.
Ravi Shankar had completed seven recordings in October 2011. Four of them were released in an album called “The Living Room Sessions Part 1”. It also won Grammy for “Best World Music Album” posthumously in 2012.
The second part will have the remaining three recordings.
“It’s a real affirmation of Ravi’s lifetime of true artistic improvisation that built a bridge between Indian Classical music and the West, the whole history of which can be heard in his playing on the Living Room Sessions,” said Ravi Shankar’s wife Sukanya Shankar.
