Neena Gupta to play Juliet’s mother in Prateik Babbar’s ‘Issaq’

Veteran actress Neena Gupta will play ‘amma’ of Juliet in director Manish Tewary’s ‘Issaq’ — the Bollywood adaptation of Shakespeare’s classic Romeo and Juliet.

“Neenaji will be playing a mother figure to Juliet, played by Amyra Dastur. She has a delightful screen presence and a wacky sense of humour,” said director Manish Tewary.

Most part of the movie has been shot in Varanasi. The film will have scene from Varanasi’s oldest Ramleela courtesy Manish Tiwary’s uncle Maharaja of Benaras. He is the first filmmaker who receives permission to shoot Varanasi’s oldest attraction.
