There were colors. There were the plush vanities of beautified lands. They were the overtly handsome Ranveer Singh and the enigmatically beautiful Deepika Padukone. There were the bustling sparks of erotic passion. There was grandeur. And there was veteran Bhansali with his latest Ramleela trailer. And, overall there was a country whose “overtly sensitive” citizens overlooks the big-mishaps with an uncanny silence and erupts vehemently when one line or indication is given on any single sensitive issue.
And, nothing escapes the practiced eyes. On Saturday, a Jaipur court directed the police to register a case against the filmmaker along with the lead pair of actors for enraging different groups on religious grounds. Advocate Pawan Sharma has filed a complaint against the film. He was quoted saying, “In the complaint, we have stated that going by the promo, the movie Ramleela, which is slated for release on November 15, is promoting enmity between different groups on the ground of religion,” said Sharma.”
This issue may give Ramleela a shot to popularity since the volatile sentiments have proved inversely proportional to the success of the film. The trailer which got rave reviews from the critics throughout is studded with another big fat tag of hype – “controversy”.
