Ash to stage her comeback with Sanjay Gupta’s next

Bollywood diva Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is all set to return on silver screen with Sanjay Gupta’s Jazbaa. This will be her first full-fledged action film.

Since giving birth to her daughter Aaradhya in 2011, Aishwarya took a break from her career and buzz was going around since mid 2013 that she will return to screen with director Mani Ratnam’s film.

However as that project is now on hold, Ash has reportedly gave green signal to Jazbaa which will go on floor early next year.

Confirming the news Sanjay Gupta said, “We start Jazbaa in January 2015. We’ll be showcasing Jazbaa at the Cannes film festival in 2015.”

“Just because Aishwarya is in Jazbaa, we should not label the film female-centric. To me, she’s the hero of the film,” Gupta said.

“There is no gender-specificity in what she does in the narrative. I’ve cast her in a role like any of the heroes in my films. She could be John Abraham in Shootout At Wadala or Sanjay Dutt in Zinda. It’s that kind of a role where her gender plays no role in the proceedings,” he added.

Reportedly Aishwarya will be doing all the stunts by herself and will not take any body-double. She has already started preparing for the role.

Jazbaa will also feature two male leads, but Sanjay Gupta has not revealed the names yet.

Meanwhile Sanjay Gupta has also signed Abhishek Bachchan for his next movie ‘Khottey Sikkey’ which he said he will start shooting immediately after Jazbaa.  

“After a year’s gap, when I was scripting, I am now doing three back-to-back films, beginning with Mumbai Saga starring Anil Kapoor, John Abraham, Vivek Oberoi and Manoj Bajpayee. This will be followed by Jazbaa featuring Aishwarya and then Khottey Sikkey.” said the director.

Speaking on Aishwarya’s look in Jazbaa, the director said, “There will be no breaks in the storytelling for item songs. I will tell the stories heedless of extraneous demands. Though Jazbaa will star Aishwarya, it won’t use her ultra-glamorous personality to light up the frames. She will glow from within.”

We are sure that Aishwarya’s fan will be eager to see her in new avatar.
