Here are six upcoming Bollywood movies that coincide with one of India’s favourite cricket tournament, the IPL:
- BAAGHI
Starring youngsters Shraddha Kapoor and Tiger Shroff, the trailer of the movie has already made a good impact, with the songs slowly gaining popularity. Directed by Sabbir Khan and produced by Sajid Nadiawala, the film is set to release on April 29, worldwide.
- AZHAR
Azhar, a biopic on the life of cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin, stars Emraan Hashmi playing the role of the cricketer. The cricketer’s life, one full great drama, controversies and of course, fantastic on-field action makes it a movie worth watching. So, get ready to relive that walk to the pitch, those famous sixes and elegant shots, because May 13th is going to bring all those back!
- SARBJIT
The poster looks engulfing, the cast looks great, the story sounds worth watching. It is based on the life of an Indian prisoner, Sarabjit Singh, who died in Jinnah Hospital, Lahore, Pakistan, nearly a week after a brutal assault by other inmates. The trailer of the movie went viral minutes after it was released. And we are looking forward to watching the film!
- HOUSEFULL 3
Going by its previous two installments, this movie promises to be a comedy riot and nothing different. Boasting a great star cast, this movie has been making headlines ever since its announcement and we wouldn’t be surprised if it sets the box office rolling and the audience laughing their hearts out. The hilarious duo, Akshay Kumar and Ritesh Deshmukh, now joined by Abhishek Bachchan, make the wait very long indeed.
5.UDTA PUNJAB
Shahid Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Kareena Kapoor Khan – a trio worth seeing together. The trailer and teasers of the characters have already made an impact with the audience. Directed by Abhishek Chaubey, the film revolves around substance abuse in the state of Punjab. But the pair of Shahid-Alia were not able to create much magic at the box office and we only hope things will be better this time.
- JAGGA JASOOS
How we, at Bollywood, love watching ex-lovers together on the screen! This might turn out to be just an example of the same. Starring Katrina Kaif and Ranbir Kapoor, this film has already been through a lot. It revolves around two detectives, played by Katrina and Ranbir respectively. This movie marks the reunion of the Barfi duo-Ranbir and Anurag Basu. What remains to be seen however, is whether the audience will go to the theaters to watch two ex-lovers.
