It was an evening of wit, jabs and laughter as Mrs. Funnybones a.k.a. Twinkle Khanna launched her new book, Mrs. Funnybones: She’s Just Like You and a Lot Like Me. Also present at the press release were her husband, Akshay Kumar, her dear friends; actor Aamir Khan and Director Karan Johar and her mother, veteran actress Dimple Kapadia.
Hilarious, out-of-the-box and just the right amount of sarcasm, Twinkle Khanna’s book promises to be at par with her column that has quickly gained a huge fan following since the time it was released. Throughout the press release, the columnist did not let even one of her friends or her husband escape from the wrath of her jabs. Laughing at Mrs. Funnybones, Aamir Khan sheepishly said, “Twinkle is talented in insulting people. She has always insulted me. I didn’t know that behind this bimbette, there was this sharp and talented woman.”

The book launch was as lively as her book, with director-close friend Karan Johar in step with her, there was not a moment of awkward silence in the press event. Karan Johar even went a step ahead to host an impromptu Koffee with Karan segment with Twinkle as his guest. Unveiling never heard before facts of husband Akshay Kumar and close friend Aamir Khan, Mrs. Funnybones kept the audience entertained through the night.
When asked to tell a fact about her husband and actor Aamir Khan that no one knew, she went ahead and said, “Akshay cries during movies like Aamir and wears checkered pyjamas every night.” Giving Akshay the credit of being her editor she says, “Its Akshay’s job to remove words…he’s my editor.” Her column in ‘dna’, Mrs. Funnybones, has become a hit with the masses, awarding her a large fan following on twitter.
When asked what Mrs. Funnybones is all about, the actress-turned-writer said, “Mrs. Funnybones is about how a modern woman looks at India and how India looks back at her. We live in a world where we have sent a satellite to Mars, but we are looking at the moon and praying for our husband’s long life.”
