Congratulations on the release of your first book “Chockolate Sauce smooth.Dark.Sinful”. What kind of response have you been receiving?
Thanks Susmita, I believe in the fact that if you put all your efforts and life with dedication to do something, People definitely accepts you wholeheartedly. I’ve got absolute amazing results as a debut author till now and hope to receive the same for longer time. Thanks to all my friends, colleagues, mentor to promote “Chockolate Sauce-Smooth.Dark.Sinful” way before its release.
What inspired you to write this particular story?
It often happens that you like doing something but you aren’t able to take enough time out to do it once you start your professional life. But nothing gives you much pleasure than doing something that you’d love to do at any and everytime in your life. What inspired me to write this story is definitely- My love for language, writing and interesting things that I’ve witnessed throughout my life.
How much of Arnab is Arpit?
I’ve gathered a great deal of Arpit’s life experience and incidents in “Chockolate Sauce”. And happy to have shared them all, I always tried to find myself through various characters. So, Arnab best defines “Arpit”.
Though it’s still a work of fiction and real both which are been designed to make all incidents a better and meaningful story.
Are the principal characters like Rishi, Jahnvi and Aditi based on real life characters? Who is your personal favourite and why?
Yes, That’s true and I know them all, I love them all. They all are my close buds. But I like Jahnvi the most for the obvious reason that she completes a character of girl friend and soulmate so well in story that you can’t imagine “Chockolate sauce” without Jahnvi after reading the story. I am sure she would almost take all credit away from Arnab once story starts doing well in market. 🙂
The title is very interesting and trendy. How did you hit upon it?
Chocolate Sauce when added in a coffee makes it taste different and fantastic, I’ve tried same logic here to decide on novel title. “Chockolate Sauce” is story of single soul inhabiting two different person. Also, as many people are already asking for the reason of an extra “K” in “ChocKolate Sauce”. I would like to tell that i’ve kept it intentionally. Reason- It sounds jarring with an extra “K” and that’s what the story is also about as its not a cheesy love story and i wanted to keep the same feel with TITLE of Novel.
Story revolves around CCD and there is where I decided the title of novel on a cup of coffee one day in a conversation with a close friend.
Did you have a target readership in mind while framing the story?
Not really and I still think that it’s for everybody who has ever fall in love or have lived life in a metro. Target readers now is each and everybody who is a reader.
How do you rate your experience with your publisher?
My experience with my publisher till now is been really good. They were humble enough to accept the story and give me the platform to tell it to masses. It was a year long wait to see my book published. But, I definitely see a longer and stronger association with them.
What kind of music do you like? Could you tell us something about your music group and your plans?
Depends much upon mood actually, I like easy listening songs when free, Any music when celebrating. I was one of vocalist in my college musical group named” Renaissance Rooh” in Indore. It’s a college musical group and gives opportunity to grad. Students.
Talking about my plans, I surely would like to get back to music again as a vocalist and lyricist. Who knows, A musical group might be in making already and you see me performing again somewhere. 🙂
Could you tell us something about your journey from being a student of Management to an author?
Journey of being an Author is been heavenly till now and I am enjoying it. Though I am a writer first and then a Management student. I started writing stories, short films, lyrics when I was 18 and joined management when I was 20.
Could you tell us something about your future plans? Do you want to be a full-time writer?
It’s too early to comment on it as of now. But surely not a job for longer time. I’ve couple of plans upon which I am working already, But once I be sure of business plan existence for at least 100 years from now, I’ll commence the operations.
Doing full time writing along with a good business is on my plans. I just don’t want to rest for next some years in my life.
What interests do you have other than writing?
I like doing music, working on my own compositions, Photography, Horse riding, work out, Travelling and I do play a lot of cricket and football.

Could you give any advice to aspiring authors among our readers?
I am too young to give advice to anybody, still when you’re asking for that. I would like to give one.
Always follow your passion, Work on it regularly, Let the world know that you’re one unique person with different capabilities. And more than that, Do it for yourself, because nothing else in this world apart from your passion to work on something can keep you charged and happy once you come back from your office at 7 in the evening.
Do write, do music, play sports, dance, do whatever you feel like.
Because life isn’t about what you achieve by a job or work that you do b/w 10-6. It’s much more than that.
Follow your dreams. Your life will be entirely different and happy.
Thank you Arpit for your time! We will meet again. Wish you all the best for your future endeavours.
