Ankita Patil is Commerce as well as a Law graduate from University of Mumbai. She is a qualified Company Secretary from ICSI, New Delhi. Ankita always dreamt of becoming a writer during her college days but due to over-burden of professional studies she remained aloof from her passion. However encouraged by her CA friend she began pursuing her dream.
‘Frustration Reloaded’ is Ankita’s debut novel.
Currently, she is working on a non-conventional trilogy.
In an exclusive interview with Susmita Bose, Ankita told ‘If you are frustrated, then read Frustration Reloaded.’
Congratulations on the release of your debut novel ‘Frustration Reloaded’. Please tell us briefly about the amazing portrayal of Ayushi’s life…
Thanks Susmita. Well Ayushi is an average student and her only dream is to become a successful Chartered Accountant. Her life is full of obstacles and challenges and that’s why her status is always frustrated. But her attitude towards frustration makes her personality worth to be depicted.
What kind of response have you been receiving so far?
These are the early days and my book has reached less number of readers. So far they have liked and enjoyed my book. Most of them felt while reading that this story is about them. My book will be on internet by March end and I hope it will receive similar kind of response.
I find that the book, though about frustration, engages readers all through with its hilarious narrations. Are the incidents and narrations in the book completely fictitious?
No, the incidents are neither completely fictitious nor completely real. The incidents are the compilation of the experiences of the acquaintances that I have met in my life till date and some are out of my imagination.
Did you have any difficulties in publishing the book?
Initially, I opted for self publishing and distributed through private circulation. During this process, I understood what the problems of a publisher are. I feel that it is very important for a writer to understand what the role of a publisher in this venture is. I am glad that my book is taken up by APK Publishers, Pune.
What motivated you to write this unusual love story?
The motive to write a perfect and sweet love story. Frankly, I don’t like to read love stories and I never intended to include a love angle in my novel. But later I felt that a love story can bring more humour and twists, hence I attempted to write and I hope my readers liked it.
How much Ayushi is Ankita?
Ankita is in fact learning a lot from Ayushi. I feel it is too courageous to become Ayushi in one’s life.
Does writing come easy to you?
I am not exaggerating but yes, writing is easy for me. I never jot down plots or ideas but just start penning down my ideas when I sit to write a book.
Tell us something about yourself…
A reserved person who will listen to your stories attentively and study your personality so that she can depict your character in her upcoming novel.
What interests do you have other than writing?
I love reading and cooking. Music is my secondary passion. I think if I would not have written a book, I would have composed a music title.
Do you have anything to say about the support you got from your family and friends while writing the book?
My family was not aware that I was writing this novel. They were shocked when they found my manuscript. But to my surprise, they supported and motivated me a lot during the publishing and promotion stages. My close friends are always suggesting me with my future promotion plans.
Which are the books close to your heart?
The Bhagwat Gita
Any message to the readers…
