After the second and final round of voting in Gujarat, Exit polls suggest that BJP is going to return to power in Gujarat third time in a row with a massive majority in the 182-seat Gujarat Assembly.
According to Times Now, BJP is expected to win 119-129 seats while Congress is expected to win 49-59 seats.
According to News 24, BJP is expected to win 140 seats while Congress is expected to bag 40.
According to Headlines today, BJP is expected to win 118-128 seats while Congress is expected to win 50-56 seats.
ABP news has predicted that BJP and Congress would win 126 and 50 seats respectively.
None of this is news. Victory for BJP in the Gujarat Elections has been taken for granted for sometime now.
But once the results are declared our so called “secular” parties are bound to shed tears in the name of secularism and cry hoarse as if the victory of Modi is the end of the rule of law and fair governance in India.
This holier than thou attitude that the other parties display in the case of BJP, we can’t help saying, is a nauseating display of hypocrisy.
The truth is that our political parties enjoy playing politics of caste and religion and we are not aware of a single major party which has risen above this muck.
