Two American scientists, Robert Lefkowitz and Brian Koblika, have won the 2012 Nobel Prize for Chemistry for their work on receptors which enable cells to sense their environment.
According to a statement by the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences, the $1.2 million prize has been awarded to the duo for their research on the inner-workings of G-protein coupled receptors.
