High drama is going on in Uttarakhand Congress politics!
Vijay Bahuguna today sworn in as the chief minister of Uttarakhand but MP Harish Rawat turned rebel and has reportedly offered to resign from the union cabinet ministry.
Rawat who was hoping to become the chief minister of the state is very upset over high command’s decision to make Vijay Bahuguna the CM. Rawat who claimed to have a maximum number of MLA supporters, sent a letter to Sonia Gandhi offering to resign.
Bahuguna today took oath at a small ceremony at the Parade Ground in Dehradun, but only 11 MLAs was present there. 20 MLAs have abstained and reportedly behind Harish Rawat. Congress has 32 MLAs while BJP has 31.
Definitely more drama to unfold in coming days!
