In March last year Google announced that they would no longer bend to government censors when China had put some restrictions over search engines and put censorship on Google services beyond its approved business range over security concerns. Google eventually shut down their operation in China and re-routing mainland users to its uncensored site in Hong Kong.
Google spokeswoman for China Marsha Wang confirmed the renewal news stating “We have passed the 2011 annual assessment of the licence.”
Now Google’s Internet content provider licence in China has been extended for another one year.
