India’s leading auto manufacturer Maruti Suzuki has introduced new entry-level sedan, Swift DZire, starting price at Rs 4.79 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
The new Swift DZire is actually a smaller version of the old model with 150 new features and it will cost Rs.25,000 to 30,000 cheaper than the older version. The new car is available in 1.2 litre petrol and 1.3 litre diesel alternatives.
The petrol variants are priced between Rs.4.79 lakh and Rs.6.54 lakh and the price range of diesel versions is between Rs.5.80 lakh and Rs.7.09 lakh.
After unveiled the car, Managing Director & CEO, Maruti Suzuki India, Shinzo Nakanishi told reporters, “We along with our vendors have invested over Rs.230 crore towards this full model change for the new Swift DZire, This is over and above the Rs.550 crore invested towards new Swift launched earlier in this fiscal.” “This second new model in our portfolio within six months, demonstrates our faith and confidence in the Indian market…our engineers have brought in interesting modifications including an automatic transmission in the new Swift DZire to meet the aspirations of a young city family,” he added.
The New Swift DZire would surely give hard competition to Toyota Etios, Ford Fiesta Classic, Hyundai Accent, Mahindra Verito and Tata Manza.
