Dharmendra and Shabana Azmi Receive Padma Bhushan; Bhupen Hazaria awarded Padma Vibhushan

2012 Padma Bhusan award goes to three prominent figures in the movie industry.  From  the art-cinema category, this year’s Padma Bhusan, India’s  third highest civilian award, has been given to actors Dharmendra & Shabana Azmi and filmmaker Mira Nair.

Singer Bhupen Hazarika, who passed away recently has been chosen for 2012 Padma Vibhushan along with master cartoonist Mario Miranda, who coincidentally died very recently too.

This year 77 people receive Padma Shri award including Ghazal singer Anup Jalota, music director Vanraj Bhatia and sports personalities Limba Ram and Zafar Iqbal.
