Good mental health is important. It’s imperative. Keeping in mind the recent developments in this field, this article focuses on the very aspect of loving yourself.
Amidst the endless annoying faces and the ever increasing work pile, amidst the rush-push in over-crammed trains or share auto-rickshaws, amidst confusion and chaos, troubles and issues, in prickly heat or chilling conditions, don’t give up. How important is self love? Something that we should do and caress daily but we fail to. Excessive self-love is proud, less self-love is underestimation. But who says we should stop?
It’s all opalescent- Dreams scattered in pictures, life recorded in memoirs. Here’s a toast to the first time you tried out a new outfit for yourself in months, or spent that ‘saving’ on a savoury which tempted you. Here’s another cheer to the last time you worried about the mischief-makers in your life, and when you cried, stuffing your face in the pillow, ardently wishing to never see the sunrise.
You’ve been composed, my love. You managed through the odds without possibly harming yourself, though I’m certain thoughts of destruction must’ve had flickered across your mind. You’ve been bold, and of course, beautiful. You’ve been vulnerable at the time of your adversities and you’ve surpassed the raging nights.
Hang on right there, don’t give up. You’ve chosen to love everybody around you, despite their odds and flaws. But if I asked you to name every thing you loved, how long would you take to name yourself?
