Vishal Bhardwaj, whose last directorial venture Haider got showered with appreciation, is now all set to add one more gem to his collection of incomparable movies with ‘Rangoon’.
The movie has got a strong star cast on board including Kangana Ranaut, Shahid Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan. The director, who has previously delivered exceptional movies like Maqbool, Kaminey and Omkara, has undoubtedly elevated the expectations of movie-goers. Authenticity, influence of real life incidents, unexpected twists-n-turns and uniqueness of story are the special features of his movies, which never fail to attract attention.
Ever since the movie Rangoon was announced, its release date wasmuch anticipated. But all bollywood buffs need not wait anymore, as it finally has been declared that Rangoon will hit the big screens on February 24, 2017!
The movie is a period drama which will take the audience back to 1940s, making them experience and live the struggle for independence, which existed back then in India. The shooting wrapped up a few weeks ago and the film platoon is currently working on VFX effects and other technicalities. Though the wait for the movie is a little longer, considering the concept of the film, it pretty much seems that it is going to be worth it!
Speaking more about the film, Bhardwaj said, “I am very happy with what we have achieved during the shooting of Rangoon. This film is closest to my heart and I want to make sure this is seen as my best work ever. When we suggested Feb 24th as the release date Kangana was very excited as she is sentimentally attached to February given the exceptional response to Tanu weds Manu which had released in the same period and was also produced by Viacom18 Motion Pictures. Given that it’s Shahid’s birthday on 25th February, there is no better way to celebrate.”
The film has been produced by Vishal and Sajid Nadiadwala, who are also known for their brilliant contributions to Bollywood with numerous hits!
A macro-talented star cast plus an ingenious director equals to a great summation indeed!
