Veteran Congress leader P. Chidambaram, on Sunday, stated in his statement to the press that his party had been upset over the way and tone of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s way of speaking.
Apparently, Modi’s usage of the term ‘tightening the screws’ in one of his speeches on the matter of those linked to corruption called for the resentment.
“From Nehru to Dr. Manmohan Singh, none has used such language. He must remember a Prime Minister is always a Prime Minister, even when he addresses a political rally,” Chidambaram remarked, further saying that his comment was ‘unbecoming of a Prime Minister’.
He also stated that the next much-awaited parliamentary polls would see the rise of a very strong anti-BJP coalition, with Congress leading it. He then explained his anticipation of securing seats and thus bringing Congress back to power in the Centre as well as the states where it had faced defeat.
