In the latest developments in the Syrian crisis the ancient city of Palmyra that was recently in news for being overtaken by the Daesh forces has been reinstated as Syrian armed forces have successfully re-established control over it.
“After heavy fighting during the night, the army is in full control of Palmyra — both the ancient site and the residential neighborhoods,” stated a military official in his statement, on Sunday.
Also, ‘army sappers’ have been continuously toiling in order to defuse scores of bombs and other explosives that are supposedly been planted in the city.
The seize of the city had definitely raised global concern and caution all over, with senior leaders condemning the same. However, it’s liberation now has resurfaced the feelings of security and relief in the local residents there. In the recent months if we go through, it could be said that the Syrian military, obviously supported by the Russian forces, has been on a spree of making concrete decisions and recapturing several vital areas that once went out of their grip, particularly areas like Aleppo.
