The train to Hogwarts has been our refuge for long, and if your spirits had died down after The Deathly Hallows came out last in 2011; this year will be a happy year for you!
On 26th June 2015, J.K Rowling took to twitter to announce the return of probably the most favourite wizard of literature! This time, though, the form will differ a bit. It is officially a new story- the eight installment of the series, as it picks up where Deathly Hallows left but paces itself into the future.
The middle-aged Harry Potter is an overworked man at the Ministry of Magic and a father of three children. The story will unfold in a two part play, co-written along with Rowling by playwright Jack Thorne and director John Tiffany. It will focus on the struggle of Albus Severus, the middle Potter child as he embarks on his first term at Hogwarts, along with James, the eldest Potter.
The play will officially open on June 30th, 2016 at the Hogswartian Palace Theatre, West End and the bookings have all already created a frenzy with new bookings set to land you a date not before 2017!
The two part bookings have been segmented as follows:
Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays will stage a matinee performance of Part i followed by an evening staging of Part ii.
Thursdays and Fridays will have performances of Part i and Part ii on respective evenings.
So, this year hold on to your wands ladies and gentleman, as Quidditch may just be the sport of the season!
